Independent advice, with your best interests at heart

Your best interests are our top priority. We operate independently of health insurers and healthcare providers. This allows us to look beyond the options covered by your health insurance or the healthcare services available in your region. When necessary, we bring in additional medical expertise and take care of practical matters and administrative tasks for you. Through your personal MyHealth account, you always have access to your appointments, relevant information, and records of your care plans.
Good to know: Private Health Services does not make medical diagnoses, provide treatments, or give medical advice. Your treating healthcare provider remains responsible for any medical assessment.

Validated Data on Healthcare Quality

To identify healthcare providers that are right for you, your Private Health Advisor uses our own validated data on healthcare quality. We combine publicly available data with carefully compiled, supplementary information to assess the quality of healthcare providers. We build profiles of healthcare providers from four different perspectives:
  1. Analysis of Public Data

We continuously monitor available data from public sources, such as outcome indicators, complication rates, the number of surgeries performed, and the composition of the medical team.

  2. Recommendations from Healthcare Professionals

We are collecting recommendations from leading healthcare professionals. Which healthcare providers would they refer patients to? And, most importantly, why?

  3. Information from work visits

We visit healthcare providers on-site who stand out positively based on data and recommendations. During these site visits, we gain a concrete understanding of their day-to-day operations. We speak with the people involved and delve into their methods, decisions, rationale, and distinguishing features.

  4. Patient Experiences

We analyze data from review sites, but we also focus primarily on the experiences and treatment outcomes of our own clients.

We have now compiled over 800 profiles of specialized practices within healthcare providers, covering more than 40 treatment areas, ranging from knee and hip conditions to breast and prostate cancer. That number continues to grow: the profiles are constantly being expanded, updated, and further refined. This gives us a unique and up-to-date overview of healthcare providers that is not available elsewhere. This allows us to provide every client with a carefully researched overview of options that aligns with their personal situation, care needs, and preferences.

Reliability of Private Health Services

Within Private Health Services, a dedicated team is responsible for assessing the quality of healthcare providers. Data on healthcare quality is periodically updated, supplemented, and validated in various ways. For each area of treatment, the team also collaborates with specialized physicians.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I turn to Private Health Services for all health issues, including mental health issues?

Yes. You can also contact your Private Health Advisor with questions about mental health. We have extensive information on care options for common physical and mental health issues. If we don’t yet have enough information available for a specific condition, we’ll explore what options are available to help you further or identify appropriate support.

Can Private Health Services help with emergency care or acute situations?

No. In an emergency, call 112 immediately. For urgent care, contact your primary care physician or the nearest hospital. Are you abroad? If so, contact your health insurance provider’s emergency hotline. Once the acute situation is under control, your Private Health Advisor can assist you with questions about the next steps, recovery, or other health and medical concerns.

Can I contact Private Health Services with questions about my parents' care?

Yes. You can also contact your Private Health Advisor with questions about caring for your parents. For example, if you’re a family caregiver, or if you want to work with your parents to decide on a treatment or care plan.

Can Private Health Services shorten a waiting period?

Your Private Health Advisor shows you where the wait time for the care you need is shortest, even outside your own region. This sometimes allows you to get care more quickly. We do not give our clients priority over people who are already waiting, and we cannot promise a shorter wait time.

Can Private Health Services help with a second opinion?

Yes. Are you unsure about a diagnosis or treatment plan? Your Private Health Advisor will go over the options with you and help you find a specialist for a second opinion*. Sometimes this is covered by your health insurance.

*A formal second opinion takes place after a referral and is provided by an independent healthcare provider in the same field. You’ll then discuss the results with your original healthcare provider.

Can Private Health Services assist with diagnostics?

No. Private Health Services does not make diagnoses itself. However, your Private Health Advisor can help you determine which test is appropriate for your situation and where you can go to have it done.

Can I contact Private Health Services even if I don't have a specific healthcare need?

Yes. You don’t always need to have a specific health concern or complaint. You can also reach out to your Private Health Advisor if you want to take an active approach to your health—for example, with questions about lifestyle, prevention, or health screenings. Your Private Health Advisor will work with you to help you understand the options that best suit your situation.
