Private Health Services

When your health is at stake, you want to make the right choices. But making those choices isn’t always easy. What type of health care is right for you? Where would it be best to get your treatment? And which options might you have missed so far?

With Private Health Services, you’re not alone. You’re given a permanent Private Health Advisor for all your health care and health-related questions: someone who knows you and your situation. This personal guidance is unique in the Netherlands. Your advisor will find out what is possible for you, put together a rundown of your options, explain the differences in your situation and arrange things for you if necessary. This allows you to choose for yourself, with all the right information and with confidence.

What Private Health Services is offering

  • Insight into the most suitable options

    • Your Private Health Advisor will map out all the relevant options for you.
  • Access to data on healthcare quality

    • Substantiated by quality-related data from over 800 specialist practices and with medical expertise.
  • Independent, focusing on your interests

    • We operate independently of health insurers and health-care providers, which allows us to look beyond reimbursements and contracts.
  • More control, less fuss

    • You stay in control, we find things out and arrange them if necessary, from making appointments to explaining follow-up steps.

Does this sound familiar?

Every healthcare or health-related question is different. Here are a few situations where Private Health Services can help you:
    • You need to undergo a major medical procedure and you want to know about your options and where it would be best to receive your treatment.
    • You’ve been given a diagnosis or treatment plan and you’d like more certainty or you’d like to know about any other options you may have.
    • You’ve been having health problems for a while and you’d like to have an independent medical specialist look at your case.
    • You want to actively work on improving your health and you’d like to know what makes sense for you to stay fit and healthy for longer.
    • Your parents are becoming more vulnerable and you want to support them with their health care, but you’re unsure where to start.
    • You also want to make the right choices for your partner or children in case there are questions about their health care or health.
    • You’re a woman with questions about your health, e.g. relating to menopausal, pelvic floor or women’s heart issues, and you want an independent adviser to advise you on possible examinations, treatments or specialists.

What if your situation is not listed?

Frequently asked questions

What services does Private Health Services offer?

You can contact Private Health Services with any questions about healthcare and health. For example, if you need more insight into your options, want to find out which healthcare provider best suits your situation, are stuck in a healthcare process, or want to actively work on your health. Even if you’re not yet sure exactly what you need, we’d be happy to help you figure it out.

Can I add my partner and children to my subscription?

Yes. You can register your partner and children for Private Health Services. All of you will then jointly use a single subscription with reduced rates for additional family members.

Payments will be made by the principal subscriber. As health-related and medical data are considered sensitive data under privacy legislation, we will ask family members for their permission if the principal subscriber wants to ask health-care or health-related questions on their behalf.

At the moment, family members can only be added when taking out a subscription. It is not yet possible to add family members later. We are working on changing the system to make this possible in the future.

What is the difference between Private Health Services and the healthcare advice provided by my health insurance company?

Many health insurers offer health-related advice and help to reduce waiting times. That is valuable and works as part of your policy’s coverage and the agreements made between your insurer and health-care providers. Private Health Services adds to this on three points.

  • You have a permanent Private Health Advisor who gets to know you in advance and remains the same for every new question.
  • Your adviser looks at all your options independently, including those outside your policy and abroad, with validated quality data from over 800 specialist practices in over 40 fields of treatment.
  • Support is continuous: from your initial question to recovery, for health care and health, including arranging things.

So rather than replacing your health-care plan, Private Health Services supplements it.

Can I also use Private Health Services while abroad?

Yes. If you are abroad or are considering treatment abroad, you can also contact your Private Health Advisor. Possible support options depend on your situation and health-care needs. Your Private Health Advisor will be happy to help.
