“I look beyond the initial care request: What does someone really need?”
Anyone faced with a question about healthcare or health doesn’t always know where to start. What options are available? What differences are important to consider? And what best suits my personal situation and needs? As a Private Health Advisor, Ashley helps clarify the options and make the right choices. In doing so, she looks beyond just the initial question. “I want to know who someone is and what they need. Only then can I truly help them find the right solution.”
A dedicated point of contact for all your health and care questions
Ashley studied healthcare management and previously worked as a Healthcare Consultant at ONVZ, the First-Class Health Insurance provider. In that role, she became involved in the initial phase of Private Health Services and transitioned into the role of Private Health Advisor. She is particularly drawn to the personal nature of her work.
Truly understanding what someone needs
For Ashley, good personal guidance starts with truly listening and understanding what lies behind the initial request for help. “Sometimes you have to look for the question behind the question. What exactly is going on, where has someone already been, and what does someone actually need?”
She also takes a person’s personal situation into account. Is distance a barrier? How important is wait time? Do they have a busy job, children, or a partner? Would they prefer to call or email? This kind of information helps her tailor the support to what’s important and feasible for them.
Committed, even after the initial contact
Ashley translates this vision into a working method in which she not only responds to questions but also remains proactively involved when necessary. For example, if she knows someone has had a doctor’s appointment, she’ll reach out to them afterward. “I ask how the appointment went, what came of it, and if there’s anything else I can do to help.”
Practical circumstances also play a role. If someone is going to the doctor alone, Ashley might, for example, suggest recording the conversation. If there’s little support at home after treatment or if someone has to travel a long way, she can help figure out what else is needed in terms of care.
Providing clarity on options
As a Private Health Advisor, Ashley uses validated data and information about the quality of care and can consult medical experts when necessary. Knowledge is also shared and reviewed within the team of Private Health Advisors. Using this input, Ashley maps out the various options for the client.
In doing so, Ashley considers not only the quality of care, experience, and expertise, but also what is personally and practically important to the individual. Based on this, Ashley clarifies the most suitable options for care and health. The client gains a clear understanding of differences in quality, wait times, distance, and costs, thereby discovering options that might otherwise remain out of sight. This results in a comprehensive overview of the options that align with the client’s personal situation, wishes, and needs. With this information, theclient—whether or not in consultation with his or her treatingphysician— can makean informed choice about the healthcare provider that best suits their needs.
Moving forward with confidence
For Ashley, the impact of her work goes beyond simply what she can find out or arrange. The most important thing is that people feel supported, gain insight into their options, and can confidently make a choice that fits their situation.
